This tour covers 3 states of Southern India, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka. Famous beaches of Chennai, Mahabalipuram, Pondicherry and Kovalam.
This tour has long been a favorite for European and North American riders seeking to escape the winter chill. It covers the famous beaches of Chennai, Mahabalipuram, Pondicherry, and Kovalam. Explore the ancient temples of Madurai, Thanjavur, Tuticorin, and Kanyakumari—the southernmost tip of India. Discover the tranquil backwaters of Alleppey, wildlife in Thekkady, and the lush tea plantations of Munnar and Ooty. Visit Mysore, known for its palaces, bazaars, and temples, and experience a village homestay in Palakkad. A ride to Doddabetta, one of the highest peaks in South India (2624m), is another highlight. South India, consisting of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu, is rich in culture and history. The region is known for its Dravidian languages, vibrant traditions, and a cuisine based on rice, fish, and coastal influences. This tour is a true celebration of South India’s beauty and heritage.
Itinerary
Day 1
ARRIVE IN CHENNAI-TRANSFER TO MAHABALIPURAM
We will meet you at Chennai Airport and transfer you to your Hotel in Mahabalipuram – 60 Kms / 01 Hr. Because fellow group members may be arriving on different flights, we will wait to meet the fellow group members on the next day at the breakfast table and the staff at the dinner table.
Day 2
AT MAHABALIPURAM
Trial day. Getting familiar with the motorcycle and visiting Unesco World Heritage Monuments of Mahabalipuram.
Day 3
MAHABALIPURAM – PONDICHERRY (150 KMS / 3 – 4 HRS)
The road from Mahabalipuram to Pondicherry (the East Coast Road, commonly called ECR) is a scenic highway and a normal journey would take about 3 – 4 hours, we will visit Mahabalipuram after breakfast. Before entering into Pondicherry we will visit Auroville and later The French Riviera of the East (La Côte d’Azur de l’Est).
Day 4
PONDICHERRY – THARGAMBADI (130 KMS / 3 – 4 HRS)
Post breakfast we start our ride to Thargambadi en route visiting Pichavaram – Mangrove Forest. Evening free at the beach and to visit the Danish Town.
Day 5
THARGAMBADI – MADURAI (300 KMS 7 – 8 HRS)
Post breakfast we continue our journey to Madurai the famous city of Meenakshi Temple world heritage site via Thanjavur – Rice Bowl of India. Evening visit the Temple and the Nayak Palace.
Day 6
AT MADURAI
Day rest to visit the Ancient city of Madurai, Unesco World Heritage Temple and Palace.
Day 7
MADURAI – KANYAKUMARI – CAPE COMORIN (250 KMS / 7 – 8 HRS)
Today we start early again to ride to Southern most tip of India and converge point of Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean. Road today is mostly via small towns and villages of Tamilnadu.
Day 8
KANYAKUMARI – VARKALA (140 KMS / 3 – 4 HRS)
Today we will enter Kerala and ride through the west coast road to Varkala – Cliff Beach the famous for Indian and Foreign tourists.
Day 9
VARKALA – ALLEPPEY (100 KMS / 4 – 5 HRS)
Today also we will ride along the west coast road to the famous backwaters tourist place in Kerala – Alleppey.
Day 10
ALLEPPEY – THEKKADY (150 KMS / 4 – 5 HRS)
Post breakfast we continue our journey from the backwaters to the wildlife reserve Periyar in Thekkady.
Day 11
THEKKADY – MUNNAR (110 KMS / 3 – 4 HRS)
Today we will ride through the tea plantations, pristine valleys, and mountains- exotic species of flora and fauna with the aroma of spice scented in the cool air. Munnar was the favored summer resort of the erstwhile British rulers in the colonial days
Day 12
MUNNAR – COCHIN (130 KMS / 3 – 4 HRS)
Today we ride through the Tea and Spice Plantations to the busy city of Kerala. We will visit the famous sites of Cochin.
Day 13
AT COCHIN
Visit Historic sights at Cochin.
Day 14
COCHIN – VALPARAI (150 KMS / 4 – 5 HRS)
Today we ride to Valparai through small roads and reserve forest. This is also a highlight of this tour.
Day 15
VALPARAI – OOTY (250 KMS / 7 – 8 HRS)
Today we ride back in Tamilnadu climbing up the highest point in South India through the tea coffee and spice plantations. We will ride up to the highest mountain Doddabetta (2624 M / 8660 FT) of South India which is 10 kms from Ooty.
Day 16
AT OOTY
Visit Ooty – Toy Train Ride.
Day 17
OOTY – WAYANAD (130 KMS / 4 – 5 HRS)
Today we ride via small villages, towns and Jungle roads.
Day 18
AT WAYANAD
Jungle Safari – Nagarhole National Park.
Day 19
WAYANAD – MYSORE (100 KMS / 2 – 3 HRS)
Today is our last day of riding to the Maharaja city of Mysore. We will visit the Palace and Temple.
Day 20
MYSORE – CHENNAI.
Morning free to explore the town on your own. Afternoon transfer to the railway station to board the fast train to Chennai. Arrive in Chennai in the late evening, transfer to your Hotel.
Day 21
CHENNAI
Transfer to the Airport to board the flight back home.
